Web-management and reporting system for free of charge contraceptives
The web-management and reporting system for the free contraception distribution is an Internet application developed to simplify the monitoring and reporting on the free of charge contraceptives dispensed to the eligible population under the State Program “Reproductive Health of Nation up to 2015”: poor, youth 18-20, HIV+, women with extra-genital pathologies.

This web-based tool supports automated reporting from the rayon, oblast and central level, and helps monitor timeliness of reporting by family planning services providers from primary care, FP cabinets, women consultation centers, and hospitals. It also allows for accurate and real time consolidation of information related to number and types of contraceptives distributed and the number of clients reached. The application was developed using the paper-based Logistics Management Information System for free contraceptives, and can be accessed via the web browser (recommended Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher) at the address www.tfhcc.org.ua

This web-based application promotes automation, and thus simplification of monitoring and analysis of the distribution of free contraceptives at various levels of the supply chain system, and allows the user quick and easy access to current and past data. The interface is simple and ensures easy and safe data introduction, processing, storage and retrieval. The application was developed using on open source software (MySQL is released under the General Public License (GPL) with a clause. Code: PHP, AJAX released under an Open Source license, certified by the Open Source Initiative).

Topics covered include: communication techniques, strategies for effectively using information, the role of the health care manager, client-centered care, management of human resources, health care financing, and diversification of health care funding sources. This manual uses the concept of acquiring knowledge through the investigation and discussion of practical cases. It can be useful for instructors in medical schools, professionals in the field of health care management, and those who are interested in new methods of teaching medical management. The cases present the best Ukrainian experience in public health and were developed with the assistance of the Harvard School of Public Health. The textbook is recommended by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for teaching in postgraduate medical institutions.
