This manual was developed for trainers experienced in conducting educational sessions with populations from various spheres and for medical workers who are involved in public awareness work with populations on FP/RH. It provides the methodology for conducting interactive sessions and exercises, and provides general information on FP/RH, sexual relationships, sexuality, modern methods of contraception, STIs (including HIV/AIDS), and safe behavior. It has been recommended by the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports for conducting educational sessions on FP/RH for youth and adults.

This manual presents situational exercises and theoretical information concerning the methodological principles of teaching public health. Topics covered include: communication techniques, strategies for effectively using information, the role of the health care manager, client-centered care, management of human resources, health care financing, and diversification of health care funding sources. This manual uses the concept of acquiring knowledge through the investigation and discussion of practical cases. It can be useful for instructors in medical schools, professionals in the field of health care management, and those who are interested in new methods of teaching medical management. The cases present the best Ukrainian experience in public health and were developed with the assistance of the Harvard School of Public Health. The textbook is recommended by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for teaching in postgraduate medical institutions.
